Well, it's like this... My 1986 GMC S-15 is gunna die soon, It has over
180,000 miles on it, and I don't know how much longer it's gunna
keep running.
In February 2000, I ordered a Ford F350, superchassiscab, V10 gas
I ordered it from Ford of Westfield. I actually got a slightly better price
from Family Ford of Chicopee, but Ford of Westfield is closer
For what it is worth, the worst price quote I got was from Nate, an AUTOBYTEL
dealer who happens to work at Marcotte Ford in Holyoke.
Nate quoted me about $800 more for the truck with only a V8 engine
instead of the V10 that the others were quoting. It seems that
before I ordered it, Forded dropped the V8 as a base engine, and
replaced it with the V10. The V10 would have previously cost about
$600 more so, the way I look at it, Ford of Westfield not only charged me
$800 less than Nate at Marcotte wanted, but they threw the $600 V10
in for free.
Nate told me that Ford of Westfield would not be able to deliver on the
truck with a V10 engine in it. I e-mailed FORD, and "Dee" called me.
Dee assured me that any Ford dealer had the same deal as any other Ford
dealer. Time will tell who was right.

a stake body bed - SCOTT BODY, bought from ACT equipment in Westfield.
CB Radio - Ranger RCI-2950 - custom mounting bracket (pix to come)
Push bar - decided against one for now... the darn F350 grill looks too good to cover up
with anything.
Stereo - Stock AM/FM - maybe an MP3 player to be added later?
on-board compressed air system - Thomas Compressor
underbody tool boxes - Woods
driving/fog lites - Went with KC Daylighters (Stainless steel) for high power
driving lites to be mounted up on top of the head board. The 23 year
warantee was a significant factor.
Also considering Catz XLD combo driving/fog light
mounted in the lower part of the grill for more casual use. Maybe
Hella Micro-DE's instead... dunno.
Air Horn - Hadley round dual (these are the air horns JC Whitney sells)
Seat covers - looking

Well, it showed up after 17 weeks. Took another week for ACT Equipment to get the
Bed/Underbody boxes on. They did a real good job! Another month or so for me
to add all the extras...
They told me 12 weeks... we shall see if they lied!
More to come as the story progresses and I have time to add to this page - suggestions welcome
